How to Transfer Photos from iPhone to iPad: 7 Steps

Transferring photos from your iPhone to iPad (or vice-versa) is extremely simple if both devices are connected to the same Apple ID and iCloud account. As long as both devices are connected to Wi-Fi or 3G/4G, photos will share seamlessly. This article will show you how to set this up.

METHOD 1 OF 2: SETTING UP AUTOMATIC PHOTO TRANSFERS

LAUNCH THE SETTINGS APP FROM YOUR IPHONE. Scroll down to Photos & Camera. Under "Photo Stream," toggle "My Photo Stream" to ON so that all photos taken with your iPhone are synced to your other devices.
Do the same with your iPad, if you would like photos taken with your iPad to sync to your iPhone.

MAKE SURE ICLOUD IS CONNECTED TO BOTH DEVICES BY GOING TO SETTINGS >> ICLOUD. If you have the same Apple ID listed for the iCloud account, your photos will start syncing immediately.
METHOD 2 OF 2: TRANSFERRING SOME PHOTOS ONLY

IF YOU WOULD ONLY LIKE TO TRANSFER SELECT PHOTOS TAKEN WITH YOUR IPHONE TO YOUR IPAD, YOU CAN CREATE A PHOTO STREAM TO DO SO. Make sure Photo Streams are turned on both devices by going to Settings >> Photos & Camera and toggling the "Shared Photo Streams" switch to ON.

SET UP A PHOTO STREAM FOR SHARED PHOTOS BETWEEN YOUR IPHONE AND IPAD.
From your iPhone, open your Photos app.


Tap "Photo Stream" on the bottom horizontal navigation bar.


Press the "+" button in the top left corner to create a new photo stream.


Type a name for your photo stream, and decide whether you'd like the photos to be available from a public website as well. Press "Create" to confirm your choices.

ADD PHOTOS TO YOUR PHOTO STREAM. On your Photos app, tap "Albums" in the bottom navigation bar.
Press "Edit" to select the photos you'd like to place into a photo stream. Tap "Share."


Tap "Photo Stream" in the menu that pops up. Then tap the specific photo stream you'd like to add the photos to.

MANAGE YOUR PHOTO STREAM. Tap on the name of a photo stream to view its photos. Tap "Edit" to delete photos or to share them to other sources.

LAUNCH THE PHOTOS APP FROM YOUR IPAD. Tap "Photo Stream" at the bottom. You should see the photo stream that you just created, with the photos from your iPhone that you added to the photo stream. You can also add photos from your iPad to the photo stream to share it with your iPhone.
