How to Use Android As a Modem: 5 Steps (with Pictures)

If you want to use your Android in a similar way as a modem to use its Internet connection, you can do so using an app designed for the purpose.
STEPS

1
SEARCH FOR AN APP CAPABLE OF USING YOUR ANDROID IN A WAY THAT\'S SIMILAR TO A MODEM. An example is pdaNet

2
SELECT PDANET FROM THE LIST OF OPTIONS THAT POP UP.

3
CLICK "INSTALL" TO INSTALL THE APP. Click "Open" to open the app when ready.

4
DOWNLOAD THE PDANET SOFTWARE TO YOUR PC AND INSTALL IT THERE. Connect your Android to your PC with the USB cord. Click "USB Tether Mode" on your android.

5
CLICK "NO ALREADY INSTALLED" IN THE APP, AND THEN CLICK THROUGH THE SCREENS TO BEGIN TETHERING. Your computer will then use your phone's data connection to get to the Internet.
WARNINGS
Many ISP companies will provide tethering service for an additional fee, and using an app to do it without this fee may violate the TOS agreement.
