3 Ways to Respring an iPhone/iPod Touch

Restarting the SpringBoard on iPhone/iPod Touch can be very useful when your iPhone/iPod Touch freezes up on you. Read on to find out how to do it.
STEPS
METHOD 1 OF 3: WHEN SPRINGBOARD CRASHES (ONLY WHEN JAILBROKEN)

IF YOU HAVE A PASSCODE, AND THE KEYPAD COMES UP, HIT THE CANCEL BUTTON, AND TAP ON THE STATUSBAR, THE BAR AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN

A DIALOGUE BOX WILL POP UP, AT THE BOTTOM, IN THE CENTER, WILL BE A RESTART BUTTON. Tap on it.
METHOD 2 OF 3: WHEN YOUR IOS DEVICE FREEZES UP

PRESS AND HOLD YOUR FINGERS ON THE HOME BUTTON AND THE SLEEP/POWER BUTTON

WAIT UNTIL THE SCREEN GOES BLACK BUT KEEP IT HELD IN UNTIL THE APPLE ICON COMES UP ON THE SCREEN.

LET GO OF THE BUTTONS, AND LET YOUR DEVICE BOOT ITSELF UP
METHOD 3 OF 3: REBOOTING

PRESS YOUR FINGERS ON THE HOME AND SLEEP/POWER BUTTONS

WAIT UNTIL THE SCREEN GOES BLACK. Let go of the buttons. The screen should stay black

PRESS AND HOLD YOUR FINGER ON THE SLEEP/POWER BUTTON
